Zack Fair x Reader | Apocalypse? (one-shot)

A little pre-warning that there's a light, non-explicit sexual scene at the end of this fic. So, when you get to the 'time skip' thingy, well, just skip everything that's below it. :3






It all started at four o'clock in the evening.

A sheet of dark purple and blue covers the sky like a hand hovering over the city streets. A deep orange lining the horizon glows yellow like fire. Maroon mixed in between their borders.

Black out. Nothing. No lights.

Cars slowly make their way driving down the town roads. Even traffic lights where out, but people still managed to use the roads. The only true lights to guide us were the street pole lights. Every fast food restaurant, gas station, and even the local pharmacy was closed.

Zack is on my left driving cautiously. I had my legs bent up near my chest with my arms hugging them loosely.

With no power to cook, we decided to take a trip into town to see if there were any food stops open, but alas, it was futile...

"My gosh, there's no power anywhere!" I give a growling sigh. Zack slightly smiles at my annoyance. "I swear, this is the apocalypse..." I muffle.

We came to a stop to where there was supposed to be a red light, but instead Zack had to go back to the old school ways and act like it was a stop sign. "Reno said that the power company is trying their best to fix this as fast as they can. This might even take a few days."

"Guaahh!" I flip my head back onto the head of the seat.

I giggle, "hehe, this might be Armageddon." Zack chuckles while making a right hand turn.

"Here we go!" I said as we pulled into a Hardee's restaurant. I do a little dance in my seat. It had been 2 hours since the blackout. Most of the city's lights were out, but miraculously only half the town was like that. So, we were lucky enough to find a place to get food.
We took the drive-thu due to the fact that we were still in our pj's. Zack wore navy-blue sweat pants with a white t-shirt, and I wore blue shorts with a black t-shit that has a flower pattern coming down the right breast, across my stomach, to the left corner of the shirt.

As we waited for our order, I moved across the arm rest between us, and whispered to Zack's face, "I'm anticipating the apocalypse." I slowly creep back into my seat and put my seat-belt back on. Clicking it in place. "At least you have a first class SOLDIER to protect you." Zack said while pointing his left hand thumb at his chest with a bright toothed smile.


When we returned home, the house slowly started to become warmer and warmer from the lack of air-conditioning. After two hours, Zack took his shirt off. Which, in return, made me blush and look away every time I saw him.

We goofed off a little while we waited for the power to return to life. Glow sticks and small flashlights were our only source to see in the dark rooms.

We decided to play a game of cards for a while. Both of us sat on the big bed we shared.

Zack was lying on his stomach and snuggling with his favorite chibi Sephiroth pillow; I was sitting Indian style.

"Hey, no fair, Mr. Fair!" It was about my fifth time I had lost to Zack at cards, and I was getting a little cranky. "Hehehe, I win again. Now take your shirt off~"

Oh, did I happen to mention that we were playing poker?

Strip poker...

"Nu." I crossed my arms and looked away giving a pouty face like a baby. He sighed and shook his head "Well, then I guess I'll have to do it myself." With that I bolted off the bed and ran out the room like a gazelle.
I tried to turn off all the flashlights to hide myself in darkness, but Zack managed to grab a glow stick. 'Dang it.'

Zack was stalking me like slenderman, but I luckly got back to the bedroom and hid behind the door in hopes that he wouldn't look there. Because, you know, It was too obvious, right?

Nope.

'Crap...'

Zack flung the door away from where I stood and exposed my helpless form. "Found yah!" He said happily knowing he won. I was so embarrassed.

After his triumph, he moved closer making me back up against the wall. Zack placed his hands above my shoulders, leaning towards me. "Love is brightest in the dark." He said as he threw his glow stick away.

It was pitch black. I could feel his being close in on mine. His left hand snaked around my waist and rested in between my shoulder blades, while his right hand cupped my face gently. His thumb caressed my left cheek as I felt his face get closer to mine. His left hand moved down my spine to the small of my back. He pushed lightly to bring me closer to him.

His lips, ever so gently, touched mine with little pressure.

Delicate is a word that could describe his touch.

Zack picked me up bridal style and softly place my body down on the left hand side of the bed.

I sighed deeply into the crook of Zack's neck as he held my back tightly with his strong hold.

The house had gotten really hot by mid-night making us both perspire together in our embrace.
Another sweat drop fell off Zack's nose onto my cheek as we continuously breathed heavily together; he, swallowing some saliva, was looking into my eyes.

Ping!


"Hey, the lights are back on!" Zack smiled looking around.

I soudlessly giggled under him with a grin.

Zack plopped down to my right and sighed in contentment. "Ah~ that air feels good..."
Zack turns his body to me and supports his head with his left hand, leaning his elbow on his pillow.
I move myself onto my stomach and turn my head towards him; he gives me a wide grin. "Soooo~ how does if feel to be Mrs. Fair now?" I blush and smile and cover my face with my pillow in embarrassment.
